UK: Luxury sustainable aparthotel brand SLO, from the team behind Nestor, has debuted with the opening of Claridge House in London, located in Mayfair.Â
SLO is the latest brand from Fran Milsom and Mark Hudson – the co-founders of Nestor, a London-based hospitality group providing accommodation for short, extended and business travel.
SLO Claridge House is set within a historic building on Davies Street. PDP Studio retrofitted the site and transformed it into the eight-unit aparthotel.Â
Historic features have been preserved with the addition of air source heat pumps, photovoltaic panels, cork and aerogel-based insulation, and MVHR air purification, which helps to cut energy use by 80 per cent and CO2 emissions by 93 per cent.
Interiors have been led by SLO with consultancy from Ed Carter and London-based Kitesgrove.
Units range from studio to three-bedroom apartments, all featuring mid-century-inspired furniture with a fully-equipped kitchen, living room and in some cases, a separate study.
A full-time concierge is available to help arrange experiences including private chefs and after-hours gallery visits to shopping tours and tickets for London events.
Every stay at Claridge House is also measured for its carbon footprint – including building operations, housekeeping, and food choices – using standards such as the GHG Protocol and DEFRA factors. Guests will receive a post-stay sustainability summary showing how their choices influenced their impact, and outstanding stays are recognised with a Digital Sustainable Stay Certificate.
A second SLO location is scheduled to launch on South Molton Street in autumn this year.
