UK: Roomzzz will expand its presence in Scotland with an aparthotel in Glasgow’s Merchant City, following the appointment of Insite Group to deliver the £15 million redevelopment project.
Cotton House, a former office building at the corner of Cochrane Street and Montrose Street, will be transformed into a 153-unit aparthotel. The construction process is expected to commence this month and be completed in August 2027.
Plans include the partial removal of the existing basement slab to create higher ceilings, the addition of a mezzanine level, and the installation of modular guest rooms.
Guests will also have access to a gym, coworking facilities under the Workinc brand, and a podcast studio.
The project’s sustainability strategy will include repairing and upgrading existing windows and building systems, reusing materials where possible.
Scott McMillan, managing director of Insite Group, said: “Cotton House presents unique structural challenges that require precision and a one-team collaborative approach. We are thrilled to be working with The Parklane Group to bring this premium aparthotel concept to life.”
The Glasgow project will join Roomzzz Edinburgh, which opened in 2023.
