UK: SeaSpace has appointed Andrew Kitching as general manager of its design-led hotel and apartment property in Newquay, Cornwall.

Kitching brings over 24 years of experience in the hospitality sector, spanning a variety of hotels, restaurants and golf resorts and leisure places in the UK. As a new addition to the team, he will take care of the day to day business of the property, guest experience and team development, and support the ongoing growth of the SeaSpace brand.

Prior to joining SeaSpace, Kitching was general manager at Peckforton Castle, Cheshire. He also spent more than five years leading two Parkdean Resorts properties. Over the course of his career, he has worked in the hotel industry in a variety of senior leadership and team management and guest service roles.

Commenting on his appointment, Kitching said: “Joining SeaSpace was an opportunity to be part of something genuinely different. The ambition to redefine coastal hospitality, the freedom to help shape a new brand from its infancy and the chance to create a destination that people want to return to again and again made it an easy decision.”

Kitching’s experience at SeaSpace, along with his expertise in team building, will help the company as it advances in its next phase of development, said the company’s chief executive officer Ben Harper.

SeaSpace is situated between Porth and Watergate Bay, Cornwall, and provides studio and apartment style lodging, as well as amenities such as a swimming pool, café, gym, padel courts and indoor and outdoor family activity areas.
